During the Holidazzle parade in Minneapolis, a police van suddenly accelerated into the crowd of onlookers, injuring several and killing two. John Goetz represented the families of the two deceased. In a four week state court trial plaintiffs established that the sudden acceleration of the police van resulted from a defective aftermarket electronic product installed in the vehicle.
