The case involved a 29-year-old man and his wife who were out for an afternoon cruise on Lake Minnetonka. The operator of a fishing boat nearby observed some bad weather approaching, and decided to try to get home before the rain hit. While proceeding at approximately 25 to 30 mph, he struck the side of the boat in which the plaintiff was riding, killing him. The plaintiff was survived by his wife and two young children

This case involved a 40-year-old gentleman that was a pedestrian when he was struck by an automobile at an auto show. His left leg was run over and he suffered multiple fractures. He went through extensive therapy to save the leg and amputation could occur in the future. The defendants claimed the accident was the plaintiff's fault for stepping in front of the car and that the leg was going to be lost due to diabetes.

A 43-year-old father and husband suddenly developed an excruciating headache, the first such headache in his life. At the small town emergency room in Wisconsin, the physician failed to consider a cerebral aneurysm and did not perform a CT scan. He instead diagnosed a sinus headache and sent the patient home with antibiotics. The patient subsequently died of a cerebral aneurysm.
