A 57-year-old man, married with no children, employed seasonally as a truck driver, died of pneumonia at a hospital in the outer metro area. His health history included heavy use of alcohol and tobacco, and recent rib fractures. Our internal medicine expert identified several aspects of the care received by the deceased which in his opinion departed from accepted medical practice and contributed to the death.

A 32-year-old husband and father of a baby girl was served to the point of severe intoxication at a rural tavern and allowed to leave in his own car. He lost control and crashed, killing himself. The claim was brought against the tavern on behalf of his surviving wife and daughter.

A 68-year-old grandmother was killed when the vehicle she was riding in as a passenger was struck by a farm truck. There were coverage questions regarding the defendant's employment, specifically whether he worked for a third party or if he was an independent contractor. Case settled for policy limits from all responsible parties, including the UIM carrier.
