The plaintiff was not aware that the defendant had been drinking prior to meeting them. On the way back to the airport the plaintiff noticed the defendant was traveling at a high rate of speed. The defendant's vehicle left the roadway and smashed into a steel barrier. The defendant had a BAC of .18.
