Wrongful death suit filed against former Vikings player Joe Senser and his wife Amy
September 2011
Today the family of Anousone Phanthavong filed a Wrongful Death lawsuit in Hennepin County District Court, Minneapolis, Minnesota against Joe Senser and his wife Amy Senser.
On Friday, September 2 Amy Senser’s attorney faxed a one sentance statement to the Minnesota State Patrol finally admitting that she was the driver of the Mercedes SUV owned by her husband which struck and killed Anousone Phanthavong on August 23 in Minneapolis.
“This lawsuit will provide us a vehicle to obtain information that the Senser family refuses to disclose” said Minneapolis attorney Jim Schwebel, attorney for the Phanthavong family.
“We are interested in learning why Amy Senser fled the scene, whether there was alcohol involved, whether she was alone in the vehicle, and why she was taking the riverside exit.
Amy Senser fled the scene leaving Anousone Phanthavong dead or dying in the roadway.
It is disturbing that the Senser family continues to frustrate Minnesota State Highway Patrol’s investigation of this tragedy. This lawsuit will reveal the true facts, even without the cooperation of the Sensers”
