MINNEAPOLIS, MN—January 1, 2002—Schwebel, Goetz & Sieben, P.A. is pleased to announce the election of Peter W. Riley, Sharon L. Van Dyck, Paul E. Godlewski and William A. Crandall to shareholders. The attorneys were selected based on their high level of professional integrity, their contributions to the field of law and their proven commitment to providing personal injury victims the highest level of legal representation.

All four attorneys have received an “AV” rating by the nationally recognized Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. This rating, the highest awarded by this publication, recognizes legal ability, faithful adherence to ethical standards, professional reliability and diligence. Each has also been named a “Super Lawyer” multiple years running by both Minnesota Law & Politics and Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine. In addition, Riley, Crandall, and Godlewski’s extensive courtroom experience has earned them certification as “Civil Trial Specialist” by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.

Peter W. Riley joined Schwebel, Goetz & Sieben in 1991 having received his legal degree cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1977. As an active member of his profession, he currently serves as vice president of the Minnesota Trial Lawyers Association. He specializes in personal injury and wrongful death law. Some of his most notable cases include a five million dollar recovery for a victim of medical malpractice and two wrongful death settlements of over one million dollars each.

Sharon L. Van Dyck graduated magna cum laude from the William Mitchell College of Law in 1987. Today she leads the firm’s appellate department and practices exclusively in the area of plaintiff’s personal injury and wrongful death. Her expertise has created multiple new causes of action in insurance settlement claims where coverage has been initially denied. She has been with the firm since 1985.

Paul E. Godlewski a northeast Minneapolis native began his legal career with a small firm in Columbia Heights, and also served as a public defender after graduating from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 1973. During his distinguished career, he has won a number of record-setting settlements and verdicts, including one of the largest verdicts ever returned in Minnesota. One of his jury trials helped expand the law that requires manufacturers to warn the public when they discover a defective product has gone to market.

William A. Crandall has been a trial lawyer for over 30 years, having represented both plaintiffs and defendants. He served in both the United States Navy and the Minnesota House of Representatives. He began specializing in personal injury law after winning a large medical malpractice verdict and an almost one million dollar automobile accident settlement after a four week trial. Crandall received his Juris Doctor degree from the William Mitchell College of Law in 1970 and joined Schwebel, Goetz & Sieben in 1987.
