Minnesota Law & Politics
September 2006

Minneapolis-September 1, 2006 — Minnesota Law & Politics Magazine has released their annual list of Top 100 Super Lawyers. Schwebel, Goetz & Sieben, P.A is very pleased to congratulate its founding partners and President, James R. Schwebel on being selected as a Minnesota "Top 100 Super Lawyers" 2006. This is Jim’s fifteenth consecutive year being recognized as one of Minnesota’s top attorneys.

Only the top five percent of Minnesota attorneys are named “Super Lawyers” based on votes from attorneys throughout the state who nominated the best lawyers they have personally observed in action. Law & Politics mailed approximately 16,000 ballots to active lawyers in Minnesota. An attorney-led research staff reviewed the nominees’ credentials, licensure, and standing with the Bar, assigning points based upon defined evaluation criteria. A Blue Ribbon panel of attorneys scored the top vote-getters, who were divided into 55 areas of practice. The 2006™ Super Lawyers survey was published in the August-September edition of Minnesota Law & Politics Magazine, Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine and Twin Cities Business Monthly.

In 1974, Jim Schwebel founded what is now Minnesota’s largest law practice specializing in personal injury litigation. Jim was one of the first attorneys in Minnesota to be certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He was also chosen for membership on the American Board of Trial Advocates. Jim was appointed by the Minnesota Supreme Court to serve on the Board of Professional Responsibility and on the Board of Law Examiners.

Jim successfully represented victims of the Hollidazzle Parade tragedy in downtown Minneapolis, MGM Hotel fire in Las Vegas and the Williams Pipeline explosion in Roseville. In addition, he was appointed by the Court as a member of the Plaintiff’s liability Committee to handle claims for many Minnesotans who lost family members in the Galaxy Airlines crash in Reno, Nevada. Jim brings over 30 years of expertise in the service of his clients and their families who have suffered serious injury or the loss of a loved one.

Schwebel, Goetz & Sieben, P.A. is the largest law firm in Minnesota specializing exclusively in personal injury litigation. With 17 lawyers and more than 70 support staff, it provides personal, specialized service from initial investigation through settlement, trial or appeal.
