Minneapolis Personal Injury Attorney Bob Schmitz Welcomed as New Member of the American Board of Trial Advocates

ABOTA is dedicated to the preservation of the civil jury trial and abides by a motto of “Justice by the People.”
ABOTA seeks attorneys who exhibit both skill, civility, and integrity. Its attorneys assist younger lawyers with higher degrees of trial advocacy. The organization also strives to educate the public about the importance of the Seventh Amendment.

ABOTA membership is dependent on numerous criteria including the ability for any applicant to list 10 civil jury trials that went to a jury verdict or hung jury as lead counsel. The membership rules for ABOTA are outlined in Article III, Section 2 of the organization’s constitution.
Bob Schmitz specializes in personal injury, wrongful death, and product liability law. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota and went on to graduate cum laude from the William Mitchell College of Law in 1980.
He joined the law firm of Schwebel, Goetz, & Sieben, P.A. in 1991. Along with his practice, he offers lectures at continuing legal education seminars in the state. He also has garnered the admiration and respect of judges and his fellow lawyers in Minnesota who routinely appoint him to arbitrate or mediate legal cases for them. He is a member of the Minnesota and Wisconsin state bars and was admitted to the bars of the U.S. District Court in the District of Minnesota and the Western District of Wisconsin in 1986 and 1998, respectively.
