How Much Is My Case Worth?
Author / Coordinator: Kojo AddoJune 2022
A common question we receive after it is determined that an injured person has a viable case is “so…how much money is my case worth?”
Great question! However, it is too early to answer. There are several factors that need be taken into consideration when evaluating the value of your case. Some of these factors include:
– Type of case (negligent driver, dog bite, slip/trip and fall)
– Aggravated liability factors (i.e. drunk driver, poorly maintained walkways, aggressive dog)
– Extent of property damages (total loss v. minor dent in the fender)
– Types of injuries (broken bones or soft tissue damage)
– Visible injuries (cuts, bruises, scars)
– Relevant medical history/ Prior injuries
– Extent of medical treatment
– Medical bills
– Future medical bills
– Missed time from work and wage loss
– Loss of future earning
– Pain and limitations
– Other losses as a result of the injury
