MINNEAPOLIS, MN—October 19, 2006—The law firm of Schwebel, Goetz & Sieben, P.A., is pleased to announce that Paul E. Godlewski was recently honored with Bemidji State University Alumni Association’s 2006 Outstanding Alumni Award.
The “Outstanding Alumni Award” is presented annually during Homecoming. It is the highest honor granted by the Bemidji State University Alumni Association. The recipients of the award bring much recognition to their alma mater through distinguished and professional achievements. They are honored for exceptional service and contributions to Bemidji State University and to their community, state and nation. Mr. Godlewski was honored on October 13th, 2006 at the 35th Annual Alumni Award Ceremony.
A native of Northeast Minneapolis, Minnesota, Godlewski received his Psychology degree with honors from Bemidji State University in 1970 and a law degree from University of North Dakota School of Law in 1973. Paul is currently a partner in the Minneapolis law firm of Schwebel, Goetz & Sieben, P.A.
Through the course of his career as a personal injury trial lawyer, Mr. Godlewski has participated in significant cases changing and defining the law in both product liability and underinsured motorist coverage. He is frequently invited to speak at seminars for lawyers and other professionals in Minnesota and other states. He has published numerous articles for seminars and legal periodicals, and has authored chapters on specific injury-related topics. Paul has been an invited speaker with the 1998 National Convention of American Trial Lawyers Association and the National College of Advocacy.
Throughout his career, Godlewski has received numerous professional honors. For over nine years, he has been named a “Super Lawyer” by peer vote in the Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine, and in 2001, he named to the "Top 100 Super Lawyers”. In the same year, he was one of “Top 40 Personal Injury Attorneys” by Minnesota Law & Politics.
Beyond awards, Godlewski has been a leader in his profession and the community. He is certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, an exclusive certification based on peer review and a written examination. The Martindale Hubbell Law Directory gives him an “AV” rating, the highest achievable for legal ability and for faithful adherence to ethical standards, professional reliability, and diligence.
Godlewski is also a member of the Minnesota Trial Lawyers Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association and the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is currently a member of the board of directors of the Brain Injury Association in Minnesota and a member of the Minnesota Million Dollar Round Table.
