Attorney Kojo A. Addo Featured in Gustavus Adolphus College Publication
December 2020
Minneapolis, MN, December 2020 – Schwebel, Goetz & Sieben would like to congratulate attorney Kojo A. Addo on his featured profile article in Gustavus Adolphus College’s online publication. Addo was recognized in the article for thriving as a personal injury attorney after taking advantage of support and mentorship opportunities when faced with academic adversity at the institution.
Kojo experienced a difficult first semester at Gustavus Adolphus, but with help from professors, counselors, and his family and friends, he put into practice an adage from his Gustavus personal statement: ‘persistence guarantees success.’
“My family, Gustavus friends, Virgil Jones, and on-campus counselors encouraged me not to give up on myself and persevere through the failure.”
Kojo’s academic journey and professional career have since exemplified the qualities of resilience, care, and advocacy. After Addo clerked for Schwebel, Goetz & Sieben in 2015 the law firm’s emphasis on personal injury cases drew him into the field. Addo joined the firm as an attorney in October 2017, and fellow attorney James Ballentine became one law firm mentor.
“Kojo is one of the best-liked lawyers in our law firm,” Ballentine said. But in the legal world, it’s the client who counts most, and that’s where Addo truly excels, according to Ballentine.
“He’s got a good sense of what his clients want and need,” Ballentine said. “He’s a wonderful attorney. He’s a great advocate for his clients… And he’s fearless.”
